For
those who wonder if they can get STDs or infections from sex
toys, the answer is yes. You can get an STD if you share your
sex toys and you can get an infection from sharing your sex
toys or even using them without properly cleaning them just
by yourself.
The
basic rule of thumb is that you do not want to do anything with
a sex toy that you would not do with part of your body. Using
a sex toy with a separate condom for each partner will help
avoid spreading unwanted bacteria or viruses - just as wearing
a condom will during sex.
Be
careful to follow the guidelines
for proper condom use. If you want to avoid contacting
your partner’s bodily fluids to prevent STDs, it might also
be a good idea to wash your hands each time you open a new condom
as well.
STDs-
If neither partner is concerned about transferring or catching
any diseases, then it is probably safe to use an adult toy without
a condom. Obviously, the same rules apply to using adult toys
as it does to having intercourse - avoid contact with semen
if you are concerned about pregnancy.
Allergies-
Although rare, some people have an allergic reaction to latex.
If you or your partner has an allergic reaction to your toy,
we recommend discontinuing use of that toy. If you cover it
with a condom that is not made out of latex, it might prevent
such a reaction.
Bacterial
Infections-
Avoid using your sex toys (or anything else for that matter)
anally, and then inserting it directly from the anus into the

or product page, or contact Customer Service. This type
of material is widely used for erection rings and masturbation

with warm (never hot) water and a liquid antibacterial soap,
then let air dry completely. Once dry, sprinkle with the
included "renewing" powder or cornstarch. Never use talcum
powder or baby powder, as these can cause irritation and
sometimes larger problems for women (pure talc is fine but
very difficult to find).
Jelly
Jelly
toys are nearly half the price of silicone. While not
as smooth or silky as sex toys made from silicone, jelly toys
can still bring you a tremendous amount of pleasure. The
secret is using a generous amount of lubrication. Usually
available in bright colors, jelly toys are crafted from a thick,
translucent, flexible rubber. You don't want to use soap
or boiling water to clean your jelly toys, just warm water and
a gentle touch. Unfortunately, that means these toys aren't
safe to share unless you want to use a condom on them, but they're
so inexpensive, your partner can just go out and buy his or
her own! If you want a smooth, good-quality toy at a reasonable

Rubber
Most sex toys are made out of simple latex rubber. Quite
a bit firmer than silicone or jelly toys, rubber toys are still
soft and somewhat flexible - but nothing like the real thing.
Regardless, latex rubber is very popular because of its low
cost, versatility and resilience: it's cheap and it does the
job just fine if you aren't too picky. Latex toys wear
out much faster than silicone or jelly toys, and because
they are very porous, rubber toys can be very hard to clean
properly, so no sharing without a condom. Finally, some
people are allergic to latex and can't use it at all.
Also, rubber latex toys come in a wide range of colors, although
"flesh-colored" and black seem to be the most popular.
If you're looking for an inexpensive toy, rubber latex might
be your best choice.
Cleaning:
Rubber dildos should always be used with condoms, but
can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Rubber dildos
are porous and it isn't really practical to completely
sterilize them, so you should either put condoms on them
if you're going to use them with multiple people or switch
to silicone dildos (which can be boiled to disinfect them).
NEVER
boil silicone sex toys with electrical components. Let
them air dry completely or dry with a lint-free cloth
before storage.
Plastic
Plastic is hard, cold and completely inflexible. However,
some people really like plastic as there's something about the
cool, sleek casing and the strong internal vibrators that often
come inside. Plastic vibes aren't a top pick for internal
use or in-out thrusting, but they make wonderful clitoral teasers.
To clean it, soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and wipe
down your toy. If you're nervous about bringing alcohol

metal toys from as some metal toys are potentially harmful.

Metal is non-porous, making cleanup a snap. It is easily
disinfected with a weak bleach solution (10% or less) or
rubbing alcohol, though gentle washing with soap and water
are best for everyday cleaning. Some people are fond of

choose to use this method, please don't use dish washing
detergent or rinsing agents, as they are bad for some metals.
You should also select the air dry cycle, as it will dry
your toys enough to keep them from rusting. If your metal
toy takes batteries, do not put it in the dishwasher. We
also do not recommend putting Jeweled metal toys in the
dishwasher, as the adhesive that holds the jewel in place
may not hold up well. Dry thoroughly to avoid rusting and
spotting. It is especially important to make sure that liquids
are not allowed to sit any joints of toys because they may

Similar
to rubber, this inexpensive and non-porous material is a favorite
with fetish lovers. Vinyl toys are light in weight, easy to clean,
and come in many different forms and colors.

products are non-porous, and can be washed with mild soap

Glass
Pyrex
is a special laboratory grade glass that is several magnitudes

to stay away from abrasives so as not to scratch it.
Acrylic
Its
firm texture makes acrylic perfect for PC muscle-strengthening

This
can be washed with warm water and antibacterial hand soap
and sterilized using an alcohol-soaked cotton ball (rinse
thoroughly afterward).
Lucite
This
hard material provides firm pressure, making it a favorite for

vault, there are some basic things you can do to prolong the

done using any toy so they can't leak,
run down, or otherwise corrupt the toy; both

Ask
yourself what you are doing that is introducing bacteria
into the urethra. Are you washing hands with antibacterial
soap, washing
and disinfecting sex toys and other
precautions before sex play?
Also,
the mouth carries a great deal of bacteria... perhaps
avoiding oral sex that has contact with the urethral area
would help. In addition, if you are using an old lubricant,
perhaps it is time for a new one, as bacteria can get
mixed in it if it is in contact with your skin. If you
are not showering before sex, perhaps you should... men
carry bacteria on their penis which can get introduced
into the urethra as well.
There are many things that can cause a UTI, but let me
assure you female ejaculation is not one of them, in fact
it should help cleanse the urethra. The other thing she
can do is try an urinate after sex play as urine is known
for killing bacteria that resides in the urethral tract.
Again, you are going to want to think carefully about
the sexual hygiene you have in place and ways that you

Jenna Jameson Threatened With Legal Action
Supermodel
Cindy Crawford was one of many people mentioned in the
book but was the only one to get upset enough to demand
a retraction. Jenna Jameson received a letter from Cindy
Crawford’s trial lawyers demanding she remove an offending
passage from any future printings of the novel, and a
handwritten letter acknowledging that Jameson was entirely
incorrect in her assumption that Crawford was hitting
on her.
ClubJenna’s
lawyers are currently drafting a response, but Jay Grdina,
Jameson’s husband and business partner told AVN.com that
it’s unlikely Crawford will be receiving a handwritten
letter from Jameson anytime soon. “Let me tell you when
that’s going to happen: the twelfth of Never-uary.”
Grdina
estimates that out of the 579 pages in the book, maybe
ten deal with celebrities. “We put it in there because
we knew it would be an easy way for a normal TV station
to publicize the book. Instead of saying it’s a porno
book, they say it’s a tell-all with some dish in it.”
Jameson
met Crawford while covering the opening of the Bangkok
Planet Hollywood for the E! Channel. On page 449 of How
to Make Love Like a Porn Star, Crawford is alleged to
have made a pass at Jameson. “Once the lights and cameras
switched off, the party began. I sat down with my new
best friend Cindy Crawford and we talked. However, I kept
getting a weird vibe from her,” Jameson, who is openly

lawyers noted that the video clip that E! ran of the event
showed Sylvester Stallone lifting up Jameson’s hair, and
Cindy Crawford looking at Jameson’s tattoo while Jameson
interviewed Stallone. Jameson admits that Crawford’s lawyers
give an accurate description of the events that took place
during her interview with Stallone – but the passage in
her book took place after that interview, when Crawford
and Jameson shared a booth for most of the night. A few
lines later Jameson goes on: “She [Crawford] touched my
neck so softly and sensually. Was she making a pass at
me? I froze. It was too much. She was so larger than life
that I couldn't even imagine running my tongue along that
trademark mole of hers. So I excused myself to get a drink.”
Howard
Stern fixated on that passage when Jameson appeared on
his show to promote the book. Grdina notes that even on
the Stern show, Jameson attempted to give Crawford wiggle
room for plausible deniability. “She was really nice about
it and played it off saying, ‘Maybe it was just me,’ trying
to give Cindy Crawford a little buffer room.” After Stern,
the tabloids began to cover it – adding fuel to rumors
that have been in circulation for over a decade that Crawford
is a closeted lesbian, or at least bisexual.
Crawford’s
sexuality came into question when Christy Turlington and
Cindy Crawford were photographed kissing each other outside
a New York nightclub in 1991. Her appearance on the cover
of Vanity Fair alongside lesbian singer KD Lang, whom
she was shaving, gave further fodder for the rumors. Crawford
and her ex-husband actor Richard Gere, who was also subject
to rumors of homosexuality, once took out a full-page
ad in a newspaper for $30,000 to proclaim their heterosexuality.
“If
she likes girls, she likes girls. Big deal, move on,”
Grdina said. “If they want to protect her, protect her.
But don’t send us letters demanding things.” Only a handful
of celebrities were mentioned in Jameson’s book. In the
same passage as Jameson’s account of her time with Crawford,
Wesley Snipes strikes out with Jameson by being too forward,

Sex Toys Sales Not To Be Banned
In
El Paso, Texas the case against an adult novelty store
employee accused of displaying sex toys was dismissed
by El Paso County Criminal Court, Judge Alma Trejo. Judge
Trejo granted a defense motion to dismiss the case against
Sergio Acosta, a manager of Tres Equis in El Paso.
Acosta
was arrested on Sept. 25 as part of an El Paso Police
Department sting operation after he had allegedly displayed
and described the use of a sex toy to a female police
officer. Amazing that in this day and age we have "sting"
operations for the sales of sex toys!
The
ruling could be the first step in a challenge of a state
law prohibiting the sale or display of such items. The
law was created during a revision of the state's obscenity
laws in 1979. In 1985, the Texas Criminal Court of Appeals
upheld the law. The man convicted in the 1985 case served
two days in jail and paid a $750 fine. The
maximum penalty is one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Roger
Jon Diamond, who represented Acosta, said he is prepared
to pursue the case as far as necessary to challenge the
law. He said the state appeals court relied on a U.S.
Supreme Court ruling that has since been reversed. Diamond
argued that if a person can legally use a sex toy at home,
it must be legal to sell it.
Prosecutors
argued the opposite, that although it's legal to use a
sex toy at home, that doesn't imply the right to sell
it. Sounds like these uptight folks are who need these
sex toys the most! The same thing happened to Joanne Webb
and her plight continues.

saying. "The surgery, in some instances, serves as psychological
therapy."

Sex Disorder Causing Infidelity?
In Canberra, Australia a woman apparently seduced and
had sex with strangers while she slept and later had no
recollection of her infidelities due to a sleeping disorder.
The middle-aged woman had no idea that she was sneaking
from her house at night in search of sex with random strangers
until her partner awoke, discovered she was missing from
the bedroom, and found her having sex with another man.
Her
partner was already aware that she was a sleep walker
and also had been confounded by condoms he found strewn
around the house and was surprised to have found out the
cause. Royal Prince Alfred Hospital sleep medicine
physician Peter Buchanan is treating the woman for her
disorder.
The disorder has yet to be given a formal title - at the
Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Sleep Association
in Sydney at the weekend. ``It is very complex, elaborated
motor behavior during sleep,'' Buchanan said. ``People
are often stunned and overwhelmed when they're told what
they've been doing.''
The partners and doctors of people suffering from the
disorder often do not believe the acts were committed
while they slept, he said. ``It's very stressful both
for them, for their partner or for their relationship,''
Buchanan said. ``It also promotes an intense sense of
embarrassment on their part, their partner's behalf and
this inhibits people coming forward to seek potentially
helpful professional intervention.''
Anti-Bush
Thong Charges Dropped
Six
men,
ages 18 to 32, were arrested along the motorcade route
during a July 9 visit by Bush to an elementary school
in Amish country, about an hour west of Philadelphia
for protesting the Abu Ghraib prison-abuse scandal by
stripping down to their thong underwear and forming a
human pyramid.
They
were recreating an image from photos taken inside the
prison near Baghdad in which Iraqi prisoners were abused
by U.S. captors. The men could have received up to 90
days in jail and a $300 fine, but the case was dropped.
American
Civil Liberties Union attorney Paula Knudsen, who represented
one of the defendants, said: ``We're pleased that the
charges have been withdrawn and that the district attorney
recognized the importance of the First Amendment values
at stake.''

In India Shashi Kumar married Parveen and was outraged
when her family refused to give him money and a motorbike
as her dowry. So first, he tried viciously beating her
to get it, but that didn't work. So then he poured kerosene
on her, but Parveen's mother appeared on the scene just
in time and saved her. However, Parveen's 7-year-old brother
Shyamoo wasn't so fortunate. Twisted Shashi cut off Shyamoo's
penis. Shyamoo is in serious condition due to loss of
blood, and Sashi is on the run.
Firefighters
Cruisin' For Chicks
Nineteen firefighters in Sacramento, California have been
disciplined for using city fire engines to meet women,
including at a local event in which people dressed as
porn stars. Six of the firefighters have been fired and
13 others have been suspended or reprimanded following
the largest internal probe ever by the Sacramento Fire
Department.
The
misconduct investigation began in early July after reports
of firefighters using city vehicles to cruise bars in
the often sleepy state capital. Later six firefighters
were caught taking three city vehicles to a "Porn Star
Costume Ball." A woman at the event accused one of the
firefighters of sexual assault aboard a fire engine. Prosecutors
dropped the charges after determining the sexual encounter
was consensual even though it was inappropriate use of
city equipment.

town of Trollhattan, which is threatened by huge job losses,
quit after allegations they used membership dues to buy

Britain
Bans Trojan Condom Ads
Trojan condom poster advertisements with the phrase "Come
online & play the sex organ" have been banned by the UK
Advertising Standards Authority. It also is requiring
Carter Products, which owns the Trojan brand in Britain,
to clear future advertisements with the industry's self-regulatory
body.
The
Authority, which received 41 complaints about the ads,
"acknowledged the advertisers wanted to promote safe sex
and considered that the posters would not promote promiscuity,"
which were among the company's defenses.
About
3,500 of the posters were put up around the UK over the
summer. They were made to look like a women's magazine
cover with "Trojan" emblazoned where the title would be,
and bold-letter headlines, including "Amazing! Secrets
of Sexual Pleasure Revealed," on a photo of a woman with
her mouth agape. "As a responsible advertiser, we respect
the code," said David Thompson, marketing director for
Carter Products UK.
"We
feel, however, as a responsible manufacturer of condoms,
it is in our interest and the public's interest to raise
the awareness of the need for protection," he said. The
poster ads were a continuation of an earlier campaign
that included TV commercials, which were the subject of
another review by media regulator Ofcom. It received 209
complaints after the ad ran during a July episode of the
popular soap opera "Coronation Street." Trojan condoms
are made by Armkel LLC, a Princeton, New Jersey, company
owned by Church & Dwight, the maker of Arm & Hammer baking
soda.

What
is an asexual person? An asexual is a person who does
not experience sexual attraction. The Department of Sex
Research says that 1% of adults are asexual. Anthony Bogaert,
a psychologist and human sexuality expert at Brock University
in Ontario, Canada analyzed 18,000 interviews with people
about their sexual practices. One percent of the survey
respondents agreed with the question, "I have never felt
sexually attracted to anyone at all."
The
percentage of gays and lesbians is about 3% of the population.
This raises the question of whether asexuality is a form
of sexual orientation. No matter what it is, asexuals
are stepping out of the closet and declaring themselves.
The Asexual Visibility and Education Network is campaigning
to promote awareness and acceptance of asexuality. Bogaert's
study is published in The Journal of Sex Research.
The
famous Crazy Horse Strip Club in Paris was approached
by descendants of the native American warrior Crazy Horse,
who want a them to change it's name.
Alfred
Red Cloud, a member of the Oglala Sioux tribe, delivered
a letter to the operators of the Crazy Horse saloon asking
them to change the club's name saying "the name is
a sacred name to our people. Nobody uses that name back
home - even our own people. I'm not trying to close the
establishment down, I just want the name changed.''
The
Crazy Horse in Paris was established in 1951 and is well-known
for adult entertainment. The Oglala Sioux warrior Crazy
Horse fought against the U.S. military in the 1800s.
The
letter was from Harvey White Woman, a descendant of Crazy
Horse and an executor of his estate. "I want the
young people of my tribe to remember him as a strong leader
and warrior and not some nightclub in Paris,'' the letter
said. The letter did not threaten legal action, but Red
Cloud said that relatives of the warrior were prepared
to do "whatever it takes'' to get the name change.
"Maybe with other chiefs, maybe attorneys.'' Jacques
Asplanato, a club manager, received the letter but did
not read it. He said he was just an "intermediary''
and would pass on the letter to the club's operators.
Red
Cloud expressed concern that the club may be demeaning
to women. ``As I went into the place, the way it is set
up, it exposes women,'' he said. ``Women are sacred to
us, they are the keepers of our generations to come.''

The
