is a very big question and has a complex answer. I would say

Do You Have An Entrepreneur's Personality?
Those
who want to have a successful web site and dream of being their
own boss need one main attribute... an entrepreneurial mind
set. Are you the type of person that enjoys creating structure
when there is none? Are you someone who is often a leader in
the work place? Are you willing to work long hours and take
risks?
You
see, I have often had people come up to me and say "Wow,
it must be great to be your own boss, work from home and do
what you love!" My reply is always "Yes, it is!"
Then I smile knowing that they also most likely don't understand
the tradeoffs of what I do- 15 hour days of work, work, work
and all of the company success or failure is my responsibility.
No one tells me what to do, which may sound nice, but that means
that I have to not only tell myself what to do but take the
extra effort of determining what needs to be done.
That
adds up to some stressful days and sleepless nights, especially
when you first start your own business. Once your company is
more successful it can be easier in some regard but harder in
other ways. It is like your baby, and for those of you who have
children, you know that even when you are not with your child
you are always concerned and thinking about them even when they
are not with you. The same applies to your own business.
I
began my first web site CounselingSource.com after I had my
son in 1999. Mind you, I was the one in my Masters Degree program
telling everyone that I liked using a typewriter, because as
a therapist... when was I really ever going to use a computer?
Hee, hee... that still makes me laugh. So, flash-forward a few
years later and there I am trying to figure out how to offer
therapy sessions by phone via the Internet so that I could work
from home. I did what most people do and hired a company that
seemed really professional to build a web site for me.
They
were a holistic health web design company especially geared
toward health practitioners and I thought it was a perfect match!
I paid $2,500 for a little site and agreed to wait three months
for it to be built. Six months passed and still I did not have
a completed web site. I could write a book about all the stress
that company put me through from constantly making promises
they did not keep to having them suddenly disappear because
they were going bankrupt and failed to mention it to their customers.
Nice, huh?
Not
getting what you paid for happens to people every day through
unethical web site designers, eCommerce companies, web hosts,
and merchant account providers and is something that you will
need to keep in mind when selecting companies to work with.
After
I tracked down the owner of the company that left me with an
unfinished web site, I was able to get my money back with some
legal intimidation and the backing of my credit card company.
From that day onward I swore that I would learn it all myself
and never be put in a situation like that again. I spent over
a year teaching myself web design, eCommerce marketing and search
engine optimization to create the sites much like this one.
I
know I sound highly driven... in fact, I joke that sometimes
I feel like my "intense drive" runs me over! I am
not suggesting you become a web designer like I did, but you
will need to become educated on what it really takes
to run an Internet business in order to make good choices.
If
you look at any successful entrepreneur... you will find that
they have a high level of determination and willingness to learn
what it takes to be successful. Also they have a willingness
to work hard for no guarantee of pay, no benefits, risk of losing
money and no days off. I know this does not sound like the kind
of job most people look for when they search the want ads...
but that is what an entrepreneur starts off with at least at
the beginning when you are building your eBusiness.
That
is why if you see anyone telling you that you can make lots
of money from working at home via the Internet with no effort...
you should question their true motives because it sounds just
as truthful as "No new taxes."
Search
Engine Optimization & Promotion-
Even
if you have the best looking site with incredible content, if
you are not ranked well on the search engines then it won't
matter because no one will ever see it! Often people make the
mistake of thinking all they need is a web site and they will
be taking in money hand over fist. Then there are those who
think that all they need to do is submit their sites to a search
engine and presto they are millionaires. Finally, there are
those that understand that search engines are very complex and
pay a company to submit their web site to the search engines
and get ready to buy that 2.5 million home they've been dreaming
about.
If
you think that any of the above mentioned is an instant ticket
to your salad days then you really will want to think again...
because these things are the flea on the tip of the ice burg
in the world of eCommerce.
One
thing to keep in mind is that in eCommerce if you have a 1%
conversion rate in sales (meaning 1 out of 100 web site visitors
will buy your products) then you are doing well. The adult industry
typically has less than a 1% conversion rate because there are
a lot of what I call "Looky Lou's," meaning people
like to look at the pics, etc. and not purchase anything. This
is why targeted web site traffic is soooooooooooo important!
I
am not suggesting that you can't become successful, but I will
tell you that you need to get educated about the search engines
even if you want to hire a company to help you get ranked well,
because there are a lot of companies out there that will just
take your money and submit your site (which you can do for free
in most cases in about 5 minutes) and nothing will happen.
Simply
submitting your site to the search engines is not going to get
you ranked well. You need to know about key word density, link
popularity, and other important factors in getting ranked well
on the net. If you don't know about at least the concepts, how
in the world are you going to know if the company you are hiring
can help you make a difference in getting your site seen on
the web? How will you know if they are going to do what it takes?
Trust
me when I say that even the really good web site optimization
companies that submit sites to the Internet and optimize sites
can fail at promoting your site well. It's just that complicated
and nobody except those lucky bastards at the Search Engine
companies know everything you need to be ranked well
because they guard their secret criteria and change it often.
Again, it is about staying informed on the latest trends of
the search engines and knowing what will get your site ranked
highly.
The
Google "Scroogle"
Let
me share a quick example of what I mean. As you may know Google
is the leader in search engines right now (although considering
the recent split with Yahoo! and with Microsoft announcing
they are going to compete; Google is going to have to really
work to stay competitive).
Google,
like all search engines, are always changing and updating their
algorithms and search criteria to attempt to better their service
to the consumer who wants to find quality listings when they
do a search. In November 2003 Google launched what many
in the Internet industry refer to as "Florida" because
the changes Google made felt like a hurricane to web site owners
(including us). The changes they made were to try and get rid
of search engine spammers; those companies that submit hundreds
of web sites to flood the listings for the same company or affiliates
who were only linking to others sites and had no real products
that they were selling.
They
ended up making some listings worse and the quality sites that
they were hoping their changes would make list higher on their
search engine ended up getting deleted under various key search
terms. We were temporarily one of them. For months you would
not be able to find us under one of our major terms "Female
Ejaculation." When you consider that the night that Google
made these changes we were on page one and then we disappeared...
you can imagine our sales dropped dramatically. Bottom line
in eCommerce. is: No traffic to your site = no sales.
Everybody
in eCommerce were struggling to come up with theories as to
what happened and how to regain their listings... but many to
no avail have not made it back and some are now out of business.
This is the risk game you play in eCommerce. and some days it
makes the idea of working for someone with a paycheck, vacation
time, etc. actually seem appealing!
Google
realized that it had made some mistakes and is trying to correct
them, but we along with many web site owners are still suffering...
if you go to the web and look us up on Google we are
only on page six... and when you look at the companies that
are listed before us... well, some of them are only one web
page compared to our massive amount of pages dedicated to female
ejaculation! You would think that when a consumers put in the
term female ejaculation they would want to see sites that have
information about it, offer pictures or products like female
ejaculation toys or movies as we do up front.
I
know I may sound like I am complaining right now more than educating...
but I am saying all of this to make a point. Getting ranked
well on specific key terms on a major search engines can be
very hard to do.
Do
we still get a lot of traffic to our site despite the key term
"Female Ejaculation" not at our best right now? Absolutely!
There are a lot of things that you can do to ensure that you
have many key terms that you rank well on many search engines.
To
get you started on resources that I have used or found helpful
check out my adult webmaster resources that I provide for our
affiliates-
If
you are already exhausted, bored or overwhelmed with the idea
of learning eCommerce then you may want to take your sexy adult
content (videos, pics, etc.) and sell them to adult sites (primarily
content providers: companies that buy content and whom then
resell it to many adult sites). Female ejaculation content tends
to sell well in addition to other niche content.
Many
people are naïve about how much competition there is and providing
content that is unique is the best way to go. Most content providers
do not produce their own material. They either have photographers
they subcontract or they find one of many freelance photographers
or videographers wanting to sell their images.
Components
of Good Content
Many
content providers going into the business without any experience
make a mistake by not going niche specific. That means they
start by filming anything. Things like BBW (Big Beautiful Women),
fetishes and others sell well. Having niche content allows you
to have an edge over the thousands of other people trying to
sell their content.
Make
sure to have samples available via a web site download, CDROM
or DVD to send to interested parties. You don't have to send
them everything, but you will want to be able to provide them

thing to keep in mind is that while many adult web masters make
a lot of money the majority of them don't make as much as you
think. It is important to make realistic goals, study what the
competition is doing and learn from them.

for hard working, creative people to succeed and I am sure if

you haven't been following our story, Joanne Webb, a former
fifth-grade teacher, is a Burleson, TX, suburban mother and
part-time saleswoman for a company called Passion Parties, Inc.
She is also in the middle of one of the most ridiculous criminal
cases. Joanne provides adult novelties that are sold at Tupperware-type
house parties. These parties are educational and great for people
who feel more comfortable buying marital aids in a private home

Acting
on a tip in November 2003, two undercover officers got a warrant
for her arrest on charges that she had sold obscene devices,
a violation of state law.

Of Breast Exams.
One of the
best things that you can do to prevent the seriousness of breast
cancer is to be aware of the signs. However, there are often
no outward signs of breast cancer that you can see or feel.
If there
are outward signs, the more common ones include a lump, an area
of thickening, or a dimple in the breast. Less common signs
include breast swelling and redness or an enlarged underarm
lymph node. But even if you have one or more of these signs,
it still doesn't mean you have breast cancer.
Remember
that most breast lumps turn out to be benign (not cancerous).
Eight out of 10 lumps that women may feel in their breasts are
benign (not cancerous). A benign lump can be a collection of
normal or hyperactive breast gland cells, or it may be a water-filled
sac (cyst).
Still, it's
extremely important that you SEE YOUR DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY
if you're worried that you might have breast cancer. Having
your doctor take a look will ease your worry, and if anything
is found, you'll be able to take care of it quickly.
Physical examination of the breast is one way to find breast
cancer. Physicians can also do mammograms, ultrasound, MRI,
and PET scans to determine if cancer is present.
Is Breast
Cancer Hereditary?
Just because
your mother or another relative had breast cancer DOES NOT mean
you will get breast cancer. Most women who get breast cancer
don't have breast cancer in the family. There are many risk
factors for breast cancer, and having it in the family is only
one of them. If you're worried about getting breast cancer,
talk to your doctor about your own risk factors.
Can Men
Get "Breast" Cancer?
This year
1,600 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 400 will
die. While the percentage of men who are diagnosed with breast
cancer is small, men should also give themselves monthly exams
and note changes to their physicians.

Will
Taking Hormones Increase Breast Cancer Risks?
This is
a controversial issue. If you've had breast cancer, most doctors
will automatically say you cannot take HRT (also called MHT,
or menopausal hormone therapy, and sometimes ERT, or estrogen
replacement therapy). Many doctors consider HRT risky because
estrogen can stimulate the growth of breast cells—both normal
cells and cancerous ones. So doctors feel HRT may increase a
woman's risk of breast cancer recurring or of her developing
a new breast cancer.
If you have
severe menopausal symptoms that are not relieved by other means,
try to find a doctor who will look closely at your individual
case. There are choices in type of estrogen, dose, and how it's
given.
What
If I Am Diagnosed With Breast Cancer?
This diagnosis
is one of the most upsetting things that can happen in a woman's
life and whether it is you or someone you know feelings of fear,
being overwhelmed, angry, or depressed are all normal reactions.
Yet you can get through this armed with clear information that
respects who you are and puts you back in control through treatment,
support groups, and education.
Should
Men Still Be Proposing?

Maybe I
am an overly practical and an independent female, but the idea
of a man proposing marriage in this day and age
seems outdated to me. When I was in college, I remember the
hype that girlfriends of mine played into about getting married
after graduation. It was a big focus.
Okay, I
admit, I was thinking it would be romantic and wonderful too,
for a short time in my life, but then my boyfriend in college
proposed. I remember him getting on his knee and presenting
me with this large diamond ring. I was touched, but at the same
time I really felt like this should have been a mutual moment...
when in actuality it felt like because he was ready to get married,
I was getting put on the spot in this grand moment. Would it
be horrible to say no after this romantic and courageous gesture?
I thought so... I really did not want to hurt him or make him
feel like I did not appreciate such a beautiful gesture as my
naïve 22 year old mind focused on at the time. "Yes,"
I said, although uncertain, only to tell him my real feelings
months later leading to our break up.
At my job
on the following Monday after this proposal the women went on
and on about my ring and how he must really love me to get a
diamond that big. Okay, let me pause here and say that is nauseating
to me. What does it matter how big the diamond a man buys for
his love interest is in comparison to how much he loves her?
The woman
in your office with nothing but a sliver of 10 k gold on her
finger may have a husband that loves her more than any husband
your co-workers have and to say differently based on a material
possession means this society's values are a bit messed up in
my opinion.
Also, since
I had the eye opening discovery that many diamonds are actually
trafficked by Rebel groups that brutally murder, rape, and mutilate
civilians in Africa; I don't know about you, but it makes a
cubic zirconia or gold band more appealing to me for such matters!
Okay, I
feel better now that I vented on that for a moment... back to
the point-
After three
marriage proposals in my life from men on their knees, I decided
that I had enough of this craziness and told John (my husband-to-be
at the time we were dating) that he could forget about that
tradition with me, as I believe that a marriage should be something
that occurs after many discussions and a mutual decision to
take that path.
I cannot
tell you how many women I knew that were driving themselves
crazy wondering when their love interest was going to pop the
question. Could it be on this birthday, Christmas... surely
this Valentines day... and often it made their holidays horrible
because it was as though they went through a "rejection"
for every special occasion that came and went with no proposal.
For men,
good grief.. the pressure you guys must feel! No wonder the
stereotype is for you to avoid it... it's all on your shoulders!
Prove you love her by financing you life away on an expensive
engagement ring so all of her friends can gage how much
you love her! Have the proposal be just right and figure out
if you are expected to treat her like chattel and ask her father's
permission. As if that were not enough, make sure you do it
on your knee on a special day you planned for her because apparently
this wedding thing is really about the bride!
I honestly
question many of the traditions we have in regard to weddings
and all the events that lead up to them. From bachelor &
bachelotte parties that encourage everything but the focus on
celebrating the union of the couple to bridal showers and wedding
planning where the focus is all about the bride and appearances.
I had a
wedding that was grand, expensive and had many guests and truly
found myself emotionally worn out and stressed from the whole
thing. It felt like it was more for the guests. My husband John
and I decided that for our "real" wedding we were
doing it alone. Just he and I in a beautiful Colorado mountain
resort and our vows. It was the most wonderful experience and
I only wish that more couples whether they get married alone
or with many people have the emotional connectedness that John
and I shared that day.
Getting
married is a choice that we must all come to on our own terms...
I think it is time to expect couples to determine that mutually...
but then again that may be my own preference and not for everyone.

Only Works For Two Thirds of Men Who Use It When

Men
are more than their penises! Okay, now that I have that off
my chest... let me say that men are wonderfully sensual with
emotional needs in the bedroom. Just as women deal with stereotypes
so do men. I am often frustrated that men are summed up by their
genitals when addressing their sexual issues. Because we have
such a focus in this society on pigeon holing men as simpletons
with nothing more than an erect penis that want to have sex;
many men themselves actually buy into the myth that they are
not complex, sexually, emotional beings.
Men's
sexual experiences are very much affected by their emotions;
however many do not even realize it due to the heavy social
conditioning of men learning to minimize their emotions in and
out of the bedroom.
Pfizer™
recently abandoned their efforts to use Viagra
on women because it only provided pelvic engorgement (the equivalent
to an erection in men) and it was not "enough" for
many women to merely have the physical engorgement to feel sexually
aroused. With mental and emotional blockages still present,
women did not feel that Viagra was successful.
So
let me repeat that... women, although having the same result
that men have with Viagra; meaning they had the equivalent of
an erect penis, did not consider themselves sexually aroused!
It really goes to show that seduction is more about the mind
than the body and that the overly simplified treatment of men's
sexual dysfunction with a pill neglects this issue for men.
Viagra gets a lot less refill
orders and reports that only 2/3 of men who use it achieve what
they consider success... an erection. Because many men are preoccupied
with the performance issue they often associate the erection
with success... when in reality many men are still not sexually
aroused mentally and emotionally even when Viagra
is successful.

women, men are objectified in our culture to perform sexually
through a rock hard erection, they are not however usually appreciated
for their sadness, insecurities, anger and stress when it comes

I
ran this article in our newsletter a couple years ago, but with
the resurgence of low-carb everything on the market right now...
I suspect that there are some major corporations trying to take
consumers for a ride... right into the hospital! If you think
that losing weight and good nutrition means eating high fat,
lots of meat, cheese, and other foods that high-protein diets
are promoting... think again. Take some time to understand that
there are good carbs and bad, and we need the good carbs to
maintain health.
When
I talk about "good carbs" I am not referring to the
empty calorie "white carbs," such as popcorn, white
bread, doughnuts, etc. I am talking about whole wheat, bran,
brown rice, beans and other healthy sources of carbohydrates.
The
best advice I can give you is to be an empowered consumer...
don't just blindly take someone's word that a product or method
is right for you... do some research and discern for yourself
if it is what you need... after all it's not like we are talking
about a car that you will trade in after a few years... this
is your body we are talking about... the only one you get in
this life time!

it is important to know to maintain your health.
If
you are like me, you probably know of someone who has, or have
tried a high protein diet yourself. High protein diets are all
the rage and more and more people are getting on them. I've
got some bad news about them, and if you or anyone you know
is on one. Please read this.
The
high-fat, high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets such as the popular
"Atkins Diet" may risk long-term health problems, according
to the American Dietetic Association (ADA). The ADA is a professional
organization representing the nation's licensed nutritionists
and dietitians.
The
Atkins Diet, and others like it, trigger short-term weight loss
through a process called ketosis. Ketosis occurs whenever the
body lacks a sufficient supply of carbohydrates, a prime source
of energy. During ketosis, carbohydrate-depleted metabolisms
turn to other sources, including ketones from stored fat or
protein, to satisfy daily energy needs.
So
the issue is not whether you will lose weight on the diet, the
issue is at what cost, and only to gain it back again when you
are done with this very unhealthy diet. The first bit of
weight loss is water weight, the carbohydrates that are in your
muscles, and as you progress on the diet you will lose some
fat, but you will also lose muscle mass.
It's
so high in cholesterol and saturated fat, and counters the documentation
of a healthy diet from the American Heart Association to the
American Dietetic Association. Is Atkins so bold as to say that
they are wrong?
It
is also interesting to note that the diet is also low in fruits
and vegetables and whole grains. These are foods with proven
health benefits. Shouldn't a diet be healthy? Shouldn't it be
a life style change not some quick fix that leaves us more unhealthy
than when we started?
This
does not even go into the facade that we can get all of our
vitamins and nutrients from a vitamin and mineral supplement,
because we can't! Fiber or photochemicals can only be found
at the source. Gains, veggies, and fruits... you take those
out to the equation and you are looking for trouble.

just wanted to write and express my disgust that we live
in a country that prides itself on freedom and then allows

I
read several of the things you wrote in this past newsletter,
and just had to respond. First of all, I am a Christian,
and the ONLY reason I received your info is because you
present it as tastefully as you can present something
like this.
Ok,
now for my comments.
First,
in your comparison of "The Passion of the Christ" and
the other movie, you stated that Christ spoke in Latin
and Aramaic, WITHOUT subtitles. I have seen the movie,
and there ARE subtitles throughout the ENTIRE film. Also,
as far as it being accurate, it is the MOST ACCURATE film
ever made about Christ's crucifixion, and unfortunately,
isn't even close to how terribly He was beaten.
Secondly,
in talking about gay marriage, you quoted allot of scripture,
with is good, at least you are reading Gods Word. And
everything you said is true...BUT if you would look at
where you are reading, you are reading the OLD testament,
not the NEW. If we were still under the old covenant with
God, YES, everything you said would be true, but God sent
His son Jesus to die on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice
for ALL sin by EVERYONE, even you and me. Thus bringing
into effect, the NEW covenant. In the old testament, people
sacrificed animals as an atonement for their sin, but
since Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice, we no longer need
to sacrifice animals, because Jesus took care of that
once and for all. The letter the someone wrote to that
radio host was the same way, they were looking only at
the Old Testament, and not the New Testament.
If
you would read the New Testament, you would see that all
of the hypocrisy that you spoke of would disappear! As
far as Christians trying to force our beliefs on others,
if you take a look back in history, the pilgrims that
came to America were trying to find religious freedom,
and they did, but now our country is trying to get rid
of religion altogether, which totally defeats to purpose
of this country. Also take note the of the 33 men who
signed the constitution, 32 were very active in their
church, and very devoted Christians. So basically what
I am getting at is that the Bible plainly says that marriage
is strictly to be between a man and a women... that is
directly from Gods mouth, end of discussion, and the founding
fathers founded our country on the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
and I feel that if we allow gays to get married, then
we are in for some serious trouble. - see the story of
Sodom and Gomorra - in the Bible. Also, you have to ask
yourself: If this is right, then why aren't other countries
allowing it? NO ONE else in the entire world does!!!!
Plus the fact that people of the same sex can't have a
baby together, it is physically impossible, because a
girl can't get another girl pregnant, and a man can't
get another man pregnant - no matter how hard they try!!!
I'm
sure you are fairly busy, but if you have time to reply,
I would like to hear your thoughts, and please remember
that I am NOT attacking you in any way, I just wanted
you to hear the Truth.

I understand that you are a Christian and believe that
the New Testament IS the truth... the thing is that it
is YOUR truth and the truth of other followers of the
New Testament... it is NOT everyone's understanding of
the truth nor should religion be allowed to dictate law
as clearly outlined in the separation of church and state.
I
have always thought it a bit contradicting that Christians
that preach to others about unconditional love and compassion
do not unconditionally love others or come from compassion,
but exhibit a great deal of judgment and anger.
Isn't
it a bit egocentric for Christians to walk around with
the new testament telling people that what some men wrote
about God is the only way to live and anyone who thinks
differently is wrong?
Ignoring
the fact that there needs to be separation of church and
state so that I may address the issue of the Bible being
right or wrong... I guess I try to live my life humbly
and trust that God speaks to people directly through their
hearts not through other people who want to bring us to
God through fear and judgment.
Laws
that impose Christian beliefs upon those who are not Christian
violate the separation of church and state and make the
whole argument you make obsolete in the first place.
The
USA is not a Christian country and the Bible does
not dictate it's laws. Our forefathers made sure of that.
No one is trying to take away the rights of Christians...
if they don't want to have gay marriages then don't have
them or go to them.
Christians
need to understand that they should not try and force
others to live by their beliefs. Taking away the civil
rights of others is unethical and illegal under our constitution.
It also seems that you did not read the entire article
which explains that homosexual marriages ARE allowed in
other countries and outlines the success of that.
I
did not comment on The Passion of the Christ in regard
to it's accuracy or content other than that it is violent.
It does not matter that it is about Jesus, the rating
system should be consistent and the idea that violence
is less obscene than sexuality is absurd to me.
I
believe that it is hypocritical to give it an R rating
to any highly violent movie and an NC-17 rating to anything
that has full nudity or explicit sex. We are born nude,
we are born with sensual natures and we should embrace
those gifts not treat them as though they are obscene.
These
are my opinions, and I do not expect you to agree, because
I still believe that we all have the right to believe
what we choose and live our lives accordingly.
The
most important article in the most recent issue dealt
with gay marriage and the restrictions "society" places.
You addressed the matter in a non-judgmental, factual,
informative fashion. The conclusions drawn are inevitable,
to a thinking person. I congratulate you and your articulation.
In the forthcoming election, this and other subjects of
a "moral" nature will be used to obfuscate the real issues,
leading to what is already being described as the dirtiest
campaign in this century. One can only hope that the cooler
heads, such as yourself, are given an opportunity to have
their logical analyses heard. Your work is important on
a number of levels. Persevere; it matters.

only been a recipient of your newsletter for a short time,
but I was so happy when I opened this month's issue and
found the article "Lesbian and Gay Marriages: Civil Rights
for Homosexuals." I myself am a lesbian (I think the majority

marrying someone I love as completely as my mother loves

point by point many of the arguments made by the ultra
Conservative groups that seem to be running this country,
but included a list of (very!) important benefits that
homosexual couples are denied because they cannot marry.

love and understanding are very comforting in a difficult
time such as this, when advances are being struck down
and motions are being carried out to amend the Constitution
of the United States of America itself to forever deny
homosexuals the right to marry. You are right in saying
that laws should not (and legally CANNOT) be based on
Church doctrine, yet so many are.
It
is a sad country that we live in. I'm currently studying
in the UK, and one may pick up a newspaper and see a picture
of a movie star's breast, nipple and all, as her blouse
or dress slips. Yet in the United States I am not allowed
to marry and am prohibited from having sex in some states
or towns, and the nation was in an uproar when Janet Jackson's
bare breast and nipple were exposed on national television
(think of how much money was spent publicizing that as
an indecent act, emphasizing our nation's horror at the
female body and sexuality in general).

of both gays and lesbians and have a dear friend who is
gay as well. It was through him that I had a front seat
to see what it was like for him to come out of the closet
and be stared at when he held hands with his partner.
There were many times I wanted to go off on tangents about
my support of homosexuals rights and need for acceptance
but I tried to stay focused on the civil rights issue
as I believe that it is the main hope we have in preventing

I
wholeheartedly agree with your observation that the public
is more willing to see violence than sex in movies. You
ask: why not make a highly violent NC-17 rated movie as
well?
I
have a few things to say-
First
is that we need to realize that violence is the first
act that we see. I am 19 years old, and I remember the
cartoons that I used to watch 14 years ago (when I was
5), were violent, yet they were funny. The example of
Wile E Coyote and Roadrunner plays in here- where Wile
E always got massively injured when trying to capture
the Roadrunner.
Also,
I remember watching older kids shows (like from the 1950's)
and they were extremely violent- especially the westerns
with Roy Rogers and the like. So we grow up with violence
and we're conditioned to live with it.
Second
is that (I really hate to say it, but) this is a nation
run by conservative bigots who only really think that
the Bible is the true and only word and that God is the
only one to run us all. With that said, look at what the
first few humans do. Cain kills Abel. So Christians are
grown up on values of violence, death, and suffering.
And of course, since The Passion is about Jesus, obviously
the biased MPAA is going to rate it R and not NC-17 because
they just want to spread the "word of God" further- to
armchair Christians, if you will.
Third,
however, is where I play the devil's advocate. Remember
Kill Bill Volume 1? If you haven't seen it, there is a
part in it where Quentin Tarantino had to put a whole
15 minutes of it in black and white, otherwise it would
have been rated NC-17. This is also one of the same reasons
why he broke it into volumes 1 and 2. This is an example
of when there is too much violence in a movie, so it gets
the NC-17 rating.
Fourth,
I point you to Clerks. This is a comedy that stars Jay
and Silent Bob. There is nothing wrong with their humor,
but sometimes they can take it too far. Clerks was going
to be rated NC-17 based upon language alone, since they
swore a whole lot. And I mean a whole lot. But they toned
it down, so the final version was rated R. We need to
remember the movies from the 1960's where there was explicit
sexual scenes. But since then, there has been an increase
in conservatism.
The
best thing to do is wait it out, because, sadly enough,
there is nothing at all that we can do about it. I see
your point that there can be more explicit violence in
a movie than sex, but because we're in a conservative
majority, this is always going to be the case. It will
always be more violence tolerated than sex because, quite
frankly, America's Puritan heritage can't stand sex. And
the people who put up a facade (the ones who lie about
masturbating and/or looking at pornography) are just exacerbating
this problem. I hope this has been of help.

add one thing that I strongly disagree with in your eMail...
which is that there is nothing that we can do.
There
are many things that we can do to make proactive changes
in our society In fact, this newsletter is just one example
of educating people about such issues.
One
very simple thing that we can all do is vote. If you see
a political candidate that is trying to force the Christian
religion into law or anything else for that matter that
you feel violates your beliefs then perhaps he or she
is not the candidate to elect.
I
believe the world is what we make it and that it is important
to "Think Globally and Act Locally." For if
we do not stand up for what we believe in and try to make
a difference in this world then we only have ourselves

I
was wondering what you really thought of Jenna's new movie.
We just got it last week and watched it. I was actually
disappointed in the overall movie but was impressed by
the scene with Jenna and Belladonna. My wife liked it
more than I did. It's obvious that she fisted her while
making that scene but they wouldn't/couldn't show the
actual act in the movie. Why is that?
I've

has been a need for same sex couples to have the same
legal protection as married couples, and there is considerable
legal work that needs to be accomplished to achieve protected
civil unions, and would be supportive. Although our divorce
rate has tended to make a sham of this venerable institution,
there is no point in exposing it to further ridicule,
as the outside observer would be unable to immediately
identify the partner who would occupy the dominant role
in a homosexual union, and cause confusion in the marital

TOWEL
An
older Jewish gentleman marries a younger lady. No matter
what the husband does sexually, the woman never achieves
orgasm. Since a Jewish wife is entitled to sexual pleasure,
they decide to ask the rabbi. The rabbi listens to their

involved. It was only in the 19th century, when lawmakers

(the man owned everything in those days), did they begin
to cobble together the beginnings of what we know today
as the marriage contract. Something to think about!

We
don't want to waste your time too much by commenting on
everything in the past article but would like to comment
on a few if that's ok.
First
about homosexual or lesbian marriages we would like to
say while we do not feel that homosexual lifestyle is
for us, who are we to say what someone else is to like
and or try and stop them from this.
While
the argument rolls on over this type of marriage we wonder
why they are using the religion argument to try and stop
this when while I'm not positive about this but pretty
sure that there is suppose to be separation of church
and state meaning that religious beliefs should not be
used to make decisions of the state.
The
part of the article on Joanne Webb is just terrible for
her and I believe the rights of all Americans is threatened
by this court case. This lady was selling toys in the
privacy of peoples homes and trying to help educate people
on the fun of sex.
We
would encourage anybody that can do the same and to donate
what they can to help fight this as we are not only defending
her rights but ours too to own and or buy sexually oriented
material.
The
part that really got me wanting to reply though Lisa was
the part about violence versus sex in movies and or TV.
I
Have been telling anyone that would listen for along time
that our FCC views or whomever is in control of what we
are allowed to view is really screwed up. I always use
this as a comparison..... if you were to show a lady in
a movie with her breast being licked it would probably
be NC-17 and or considered pornographic but take that
same girl and same breast and have her being attacked
and that boob being cut off in a violent way and it would
at worst be R and it might even make a PG rating.
Why
is it that everything we view now is violent and considered
to be ok and yet anything containing nudity is considered
bad or wrong?
I'm
pretty sure the only way we can change all this is by
getting more younger people involved in voting and or

I think. I know my perceptions have indeed been changed
as I really ponder the issue. I was to the far right as
a function of the concept of the "nuclear" family and
procreation and corner stone to social function. I have
to admit at this point and after giving it much more thought,
I was obviously wrong in my thinking or rather my perceptions
imposed by others. It truly appears logical and I like
the stance you've taken...enough said there.
The
Texas legal action is a wonderful legal fiasco and joke.
Who in their right mind would consider these products
"novelty" items and not for use??? I think I'd rather
see an attached notice to every "toy" for the "technical
support" team like computers and such, to get the best
from your new product.
Conversely,
what we wear can be disruptive to others and much like
the "gay marriage" issue, you are always free to choose
another church or start your own to have the freedom of
expression. The dogma being perpetuated avoids the real
social issue of a 50% divorce rate and attaining physical
pleasure as is written in The Song Of Solomon. Tell me
again why that chapter of the Bible is rarely if ever
taught in church?
Frankly,
for the astute scholar, it's the hottest reading out there
and even includes a hidden reference to female ejaculation.
There are of course several interpretations of the meanings
of this book and so the debate goes on...
The
humorous letter about specific biblical laws, albeit tongue
in cheek, again shows the interpretative biblical side.
As a corollary, when you have one clock, you know what

and application of the Bible, why are there so many different

Sadly,
I have to compare most religious leaders to that of commentators
after a political or other speech telling me what was

On
March 20, 2004 a man filed a class-action lawsuit claiming
deceptive sales practices by a business that sells a "male
enhancement" herbal products.
David
Parker bought an eight-month supply of Enzyte for $400.00
in October 2001, trusting the company's published claims
would enlarge
his penis. David took Enzyte for the directed eight-month
period, but "experienced no increase."
David
said in the law suit, that he gave up on Enzyte in June
2002 and invoked Berkeley's "double your money back" guarantee.
After "many months and multiple unsuccessful attempts"
to collect, he said he received only a portion of what
he paid.
The
product is distributed by a Cincinnati company now called
Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals Incorporated. In his lawsuit,
David claimed he relied on the company's representation
that "most men on the Enzyte plan will experience some
gain [in] four to six weeks".
"In
our opinion, the primary effect Enzyte had on its users
was to shrink the size of their wallets," said John Murdock,
Goldenberg's law partner. Last summer, Enzyte dropped
its claims regarding enhanced organ size. It has since
billed Enzyte as a "once-a-day tablet for natural male
enhancement."

The
suit is the first of its kind against Enzyte, which was
introduced in 2001 and is promoted in TV ads by a character
named Smiling Bob. The Ohio Attorney General's
Office and the Cincinnati Better Business Bureau say they
have received more than 1,600 complaints about Berkeley's
billing for Enzyte and another herbal product, a female
libido enhancer called Avlimil, but the state has taken
no action against the company.
The
lawsuit seeks compensation and punitive damages on behalf
of all Enzyte buyers, except in California, where a separate
suit is being filed. In February that 2 million men have
used Enzyte.
Sexual Dysfunction May Be Indicating Serious Health Problems
Sexual
problems such as erectile
dysfunction or female
sexual dysfunction may be more than a bedroom inconvenience
and is why you should discuss them with your doctor not
just order Viagra™

There's
far too much ignorance about HPV, especially given its
prevalence (as many as 80% of people may have one strain
or another), frequent lack of symptoms, and the ability
of several strains to promote cervical cancer in women.
Known as Genital
Warts which are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV),
one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
HPV is the name of a group of viruses that includes more
than 60 different types. An estimated 40 million Americans
are infected with HPV, with 1 million new cases each year.
Condoms
do not necessarily prevent HPV (Genital Wart) transmission
because it is passed by contact to the skin, and many
who suffer from HPV exhibit no symptoms to let you know
they have it. This virus is so prevalent because it is
does not just exist on the genitals, but it also can be
found in the pubic hair area and other parts of the body...
not just through the genitals or bodily fluids. Thus,
condoms will not prevent it.
Symptoms-
Most
HPV infections are subclinical- that means that there
are no visible signs. Subclinical HPV infections can cause
abnormal cell growth (dysplasia) on the female cervix.
Visible signs of the disease include condylomata, which
range from soft, pink, cauliflower-like warts to hard,
smooth, yellow-gray warts. In women, they may develop
inside the vagina, where they are hard to detect. They
may also appear on the lips of the vagina or around the
anus.
In
men, they usually appear on the penis, but are sometimes
found on the scrotum (the sac that holds the testicles)
or around the anus. If there are visible signs, you will
notice them within 3 weeks to 6 months after having sex
with someone who is infected. This time period makes it
difficult to track the infection as it is passed from
partner to partner.
Testing-
Your
healthcare provider can check closely to detect warts
or other abnormal tissue. For women, the Pap smear is
designed to detect precancerous changes in the cervix
and may show changes caused by HPV infection. Generally,
asymptomatic men with HPV are hard to diagnose and usually
aren't treated.
Treatment-
There
are several ways to remove visible genital warts, but
the underlying HPV infection can't be cured.
The
virus that causes genital warts stays in your body and
can cause warts to appear in the future. A doctor can
get rid of smaller warts by freezing them (cryotherapy)
or by burning them off with an acidic chemical such as
podophyllin. In severe cases, wart treatment may require
laser surgery. All three procedures can typically be done
in a doctor's office with local anesthetic.
Prevention-
Genital
warts are transmitted when the HPV virus is passed from
one person to another during sex. You get genital warts
by having sex with someone who is infected. People who
have many sexual partners put themselves at higher risk
for genital warts. Latex condoms, used properly, provide
some protection if they cover the area of infection. Women:
be sure to have regular Pap smears.

Hooters:
Waitress Applicants Videotaped Naked
In
1983, six businessmen, with no experience in the restaurant
industry, opened a Clearwater, FL joint with girls in
orange shorts, chicken wings as the feature item, and
an owl in the logo which became Hooters. None of them
thought that they would be in the media spot light over
a scandal. Yet,
here we are in 2004 with more than 82 women having been
secretly videotaped naked or partly undressed while applying
for jobs at a Hooters restaurant in the Los Angeles, California
area. Detectives were interviewing the women, who range
in age from 17 to 25, after seizing 180 video files from
the personal computer of former Hooters manager Juan Aponte.
The
videos were of the women changing into and out of the
Hooters uniform and were taken while they applied for
a job at the restaurant, which is scheduled to open in
April, at a trailer on the construction site.
During
their interviews they were told to change into the uniform
of bright orange shorts and a white tank-top bearing the
Hooters logo and were videotaped while doing so. More
than 1,200 women had applied, but it appeared that not
all were taped.
They
are angry, upset, emotional and had absolutely no knowledge
this had taken place. Juan Aponte, who is 32 years old,
had not been arrested but detectives hoped to present
a case to prosecutors for possible charges within a few
days.
Hooters
had this to say about the incident- "In our 21-year history
we've never seen anything like this before and we're very
concerned about it. We're doing everything we can to cooperate."
Hooters applicants were not expected to model uniforms
during job interviews, adding: "This manager was in clear
violation of our written policies and then went beyond
that and appears to have broken the law."
Genital
Piercing Illegal For Women, But Not Men In Georgia
Georgia's
state senate voted to make voluntary genital piercing
illegal, but only for women! Seems men can pierce their
genitals if they want to. The ban was a last-minute amendment
by moral fascists to a bill making involuntary genital
mutilation illegal. The bill only regulates female genital
piercings. Even adult women would not be allowed to get
the procedure.
Republican
Bill Heath said he doesn't support male genital piercings,
but won't draft legislation to address the issue. Heath,
the Amendment sponsor, was slack-jawed when he was told
after the vote that some adults seek the piercings. "What?
I've never seen such a thing," Heath said. "I, uh, I wouldn't
approve of anyone doing it. I don't think that's an appropriate
thing to be doing."
The
bill was originally proposed as a result of an incident
where a Middle Eastern man removed his 2-year-old daughter's
clitoris with a scissors. (The man has been arrested.)
Sen. Nadine Thomas (Democrat-Decatur), one of the key
backers of the original Senate bill, was incensed about
the amendment. She said a bill originally designed to
protect women and girls now limits what women can do with
their bodies. "This is just another stone being thrown
at women," Thomas said. "What he is doing is diminishing
what we are trying to do to protect women and girls. It
is gender discrimination."
The
bill's main purpose is to make female genital mutilation,
practiced in many African and Middle Eastern countries,
a crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
The
bill has already been approved by the Senate but now must
return to that chamber because of the piercing amendment.
Both chambers of the Legislature must agree on a single
version of a bill before it can go to the governor for
final approval.
