This is yet another cool flick to see this summer. Unlike the film Open Water, which for me was terrifying, this film is less scary but has an interesting concept that makes you think quite a bit at the end.

If you enjoyed both the "Sixth Sense" and "Signs" you may be a bit disappointed with this film, however if you try not to compare them with the others, then it's a better movie.

The Village is directed by the brilliant M. Night Shyamalan who knows how to serve up a good scary movie. "The Village" is about a group of people in 1897, that live in a village that are surrounded by woods that isolate them from the rest of society. Not only are they isolated from society, creatures live in the woods and as long as the villagers stay within their limits, the creatures won't harm them. One of the village's elder's son get hurt and he needs medication which can only be received by going into one of the other towns, which means going into the dreaded woods. Overall it is a good movie, just not the fearsome scary movie it is marketed as.

I of course am very careful about doing that for any of our customers and web site visitors as I feel it is their right to be able to be a part of our sexual health community online without worrying about potential embarrassment or harassment from other less evolved people.

In your first question you ask what is the purpose of female ejaculation fluid-

It's widely believed that there is a female counterpart to the male prostate; technically known as “Skene’s” glands. Just as the male prostate, the ducts from these glands empty into the urethral canal. The liquid produced by the Skene’s glands is not urine, but a thin clear fluid containing glucose and prostatic acid. This chemical makeup is much more similar to semen (without sperm), than it is to urine.

This fluid "release" is entirely unrelated to “vaginal” secretions, which there the primary is the lubrication of the vagina. Apart from the clotting and dissolving enzymes the fluid contains, amongst other things, calcium, citrate, and phosphate. Citrate is one of the major constituents and the it has the highest concentration of any tissue in the human body. But we don’t really know why this is, or what it does. Zinc is also found in the prostate at high concentrations. Again its role remains mysterious but scientists think it has some role in fighting bacterial infection.

Because we are all conceived as female with an X chromosome and then a Y or X is added to determine what direction the body evolves into regarding the sex: male or female... my guess is that female ejaculate is simply for sexual release and cleansing.

In your second question you asked if the feeling is different when a woman urinates vs. expelling female ejaculates-

When a woman is sexually aroused and is about to ejaculate she often will feel a similar feeling to when she is about to urinate, however if she pushes out she will note that it is different than urinating in sensation as there is a different feeling of release.

It is rather difficult to explain, but for me personally there is usually a feeling of urgency and release while I am urinating, while when I am ejaculating there is a feeling of release and sexual pleasure... with no feeling or urgency or pressure release from the bladder.

Thank you for your feedback. I always value hearing what people think of our site and I thought I would offer some of my thoughts on your comments. I think that as the web master for our web sites the site certainly does get a "flavor" to it. Everything gets filtered through me and I have been known to have "masculine views" on sex so I appreciate the reminder to soften things up from time to time, using a more feminine approach.

Also, what I have found is that while it is getting less and less challenging there is still a small selection of sex products that are geared toward women and I can appreciate that some of what we carry is highly targeted toward men. We are going to carry more female oriented products and services in the future and I hope you will enjoy them.

On the other hand, I have received complaints from men that our site does not service them enough through information and toys, and thus, it is always a challenge to meet everyone's needs. I think we need to expand in both directions more as both sexes need empowering sexual information and products and my vision is to provide it.

I also want to expand more upon our homosexual and bisexual focus as I feel that it is challenging to find sites that address both heterosexual needs as well as others. Amy Fisher Publishing Autobiography

Amy Fisher, the former 16 year-old minor who had an affair with Joey Buttafuco and then shot his wife in the head has an autobiography called ``If I Knew Then...'' due out in the fall. Fisher, who turns 30 in two weeks, is now married and raising a young son in an undisclosed Long Island community.

Where Are They Now?

During her prison term, she claimed she was raped by correctional officers in prison, filing a 220 million dollar lawsuit to that effect. She dropped the suit in 1999, and was released from prison that same year.

As of 2003, she works as a columnist for The Long Island Press, created a home based business selling arts and crafts and cares for her 3 year old son. She married her longtime boyfriend and father of her son in 2003, whom she met through an online dating club.

Fisher was released from prison in 1999 after serving seven years for shooting Mary Jo Buttafuoco in the head during a confrontation outside Buttafuoco's Massapequa home. Fisher was having an affair with Buttafuoco's auto mechanic husband at the time.

The Buttafuocos have since moved to California and are no longer married. Joey Buttafuoco served 4 months in prison for the statutory rape of Fisher. He had moved to Los Angeles in search of an acting career, hosted a public access cable show, did a few film cameos like Finding Forrester and The Godson.

He wound up back in the slammer in 1995 after the hooker he attempted to hire turned out to be an undercover police officer. He has most recently been reported to have turned to environmental activism.

In January 2004 Joey pleaded "not guilty" in California to charges involving an auto insurance scam but was found guilty and sentenced to- 1 year in jail, surrender his license to repair cars and pay $4,600 restitution to the insurance company he defrauded.

Amy Fisher's Book-

The $15.95 paperback, being published by Barnes & Noble-owned iUniverse, starts with Fisher's troubled childhood, details her relationship with Buttafuoco, her prison time and her life and rehabilitation in the past five years. In an excerpt, Fisher writes, ``There were so many warning signs in my past. I am hoping that by reflecting on and writing about my life, some of it very painful, I can help stop others from getting into the same kind of trouble.'' She also provides a warning to children and parents, saying, ``I did these stupid things, and I'm here to tell you, this is what you should watch out for.''

A spokeswoman said Fisher will earn an undisclosed ``cut'' from the book, but proceeds are also going to several organizations such as Million Mom March, Amnesty International American prison projects, the Legal Aid Society's Prisoners Rights Project and various local domestic abuse shelters.

Pose In Playboy

Playboy.com's 'Women of Home Depot' pictorial features six employees minus their orange aprons.

Playboy.com said in May it was searching for the sexiest women at Home Depot to pose nude for the online pictorial.

"Playboy is an American icon and I am so excited to have been chosen as one of the models for this feature," said Rachel Parks, one of the feature's models. "This has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

The adult men's publication ran similar 'Women of Enron' and 'Women of Starbucks' photo spreads in Playboy magazine in 2002 and 2003. Last November, Playboy.com ran its first version of the 'Women of....' pictorial featuring women from Wal-Mart.

For its part, Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, criticized the spread, saying it was "in poor taste" and went against its image as a family store. Nevertheless, the Wal-Mart spread turned into the Playboy.com's biggest success to date.

The whole idea of this feature is to surprise people with the unexpected. People thought the Wal-Mart idea was a joke but the real beauty of it was the enormous buzz it created. We knew it would be a success when Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien joked about it." Home Depot could not immediately be reached for comment. But the company had said it didn't endorse or support the pictorial when Playboy first announced it was doing the feature.

Teens Teaching Sex Ed

Researchers at Great Britain's University College, London created a study with 8,000 participating students at 27 British schools. England has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in all of western Europe with some 90,000 pregnancies annually.

The good news results:

Significantly fewer girls in the peer-led group reported having sexual intercourse by the time they reached 16. Specifically, when those 13- and 14-year-old girls turned 16, 35 percent of those who had been in the peer-led sex ed group reported having had sex, compared to 41 percent in the group taught by adults. Girls and boys in the peer-led group had a better knowledge about how to protect themselves against sexually-transmitted infections. Fewer girls became pregnant, 2 percent from the peer-led classes vs. 3 percent in the adult-led classes, but the researchers said the numbers involved were too small to draw firm conclusions at this stage.

The bad news results:

There was no effect on the boys' behavior. There was no difference between the two groups in contraceptive use during the first sexual experience. Despite the formal sex education classes, nearly half the young people learned the most about sex outside school.

"It is encouraging that we are showing some effect on behavior," lead study author Dr. Judith Stephenson told Reuters. "Based on our findings, getting older teenagers to teach the younger ones about sexual health and relationships could be a step in the right direction." The students will continue to be followed until they are 20 years old for a fuller evaluation of the effects of sex education on sexual behavior and pregnancy. These interim study results were reported in The Lancet medical journal.

Priest & Nun Convicted After 'Sex Act' in Car

A Malawian court convicted a Catholic priest and a nun of disorderly conduct after they were caught engaged in a sexual act in a parked car with tinted windows. The Malawian priest, 43, and nun, 26, from neighboring Zambia spent the night in police cells after being caught in the act.

A court in the capital Lilongwe handed down suspended jail sentences of six months with hard labor after the pair pleaded guilty to charges of idleness and disorderly conduct.

Officials in the Roman Catholic Church, whose priests are barred from sex or marriage, declined to comment. Passers by alerted police at Lilongwe International Airport after the parked Toyota Corolla, which had tinted windows, began shaking in what police described as "a funny manner."

In Fertility Mix-Up

A California woman has been awarded $1 million in damages to settle a malpractice lawsuit against a fertility specialist who accidentally implanted her with the wrong embryos, then hid the mistake until her baby was 10 months old.

The embryos Susan Buchweitz received at a San Francisco clinic were intended for a married couple who underwent in-vitro fertilization the same day using the husband's sperm and a different egg donor. The couple is now seeking custody of the 3-year-old son Buchweitz has raised since birth.

Buchweitz learned about the switched embryos in December 2001 after the Medical Board of California, acting on an anonymous complaint from a former worker at Katz's clinic, contacted her and said there had been a mistake with her in-vitro procedure.

In response to her panicked call, Katz and El-Danasouri went to her home and revealed what had happened. They also notified the couple, who are unnamed in court papers and filed their own fraud-and-negligence case against Katz and El-Danasouri. The couple, meanwhile, is seeking permanent custody of Buchweitz's son.

A family court judge has granted Buchweitz temporary custody of the little boy and the husband, as the biological father, twice-weekly custody. The issue of how the couple and Buchweitz will divide his care in the future is scheduled to be decided in October.

Study Links Cholesterol To Breast Cancer

Overweight women with low levels of the so-called good cholesterol seem to have a higher risk of postmenopausal breast cancer. That doesn't mean the ``good'' HDL cholesterol, which protects against heart disease, plays an active role in cancer. But it might signal which women harbor excess hormones, called androgens, which are linked to breast cancer but hard to measure. The Norwegian researchers who have come out with this claim cite evidence that androgens can lower HDL levels, arguing that the easier-to-measure cholesterol could help identify women at risk. But that remains an unproven theory, emphasized the cancer society as low HDL occurs in normal-weight women too; yet the Norwegian study found a cancer link only among the overweight.

Free Home STD Test Kits Studied

A free kit that allows women to test themselves for a sexually transmitted disease in much the same way they can test themselves for pregnancy will be studied across Maryland, U.S.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is funding the study at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore to see if women will use the kit.

The kit consists of a packaged, sterile vaginal swab and instructions for using it. The women will have to take a sample and mail it in to a lab using sealed containers and a postage-paid return envelope. They can call a secure telephone number for test results.

Available on the Internet, they are designed to appear like a mail-order prescription. The CDC recommends that all sexually active people under the age of 25 be regularly screened for common STDs such as chlamydia and gonorrhea. In February, Advocates for Youth and the sexual health-oriented Alan Guttmacher Institute issued a report estimating that half of all young Americans will get a sexually transmitted disease by the age of 25. The CDC says 18.9 million new cases of STDs occurred in 2000, nearly half of them among teens and young adults aged 15 to 24.

Sex Shop Claims Job Applicant Stole Toy

The Pleasures sex shop in Alabama filed an arrest warrant for a woman who left the store without paying for a toy. How did they find her? She had just filled out a job application.

``I thought, that is a classic case of dumb-crook news,'' said Jamie Hudgins, a sales clerk at Pleasures. She said the 22-year-old Decatur woman entered the store with two friends at 12:30 p.m. Monday, completed a job application and browsed the store before leaving.

The anti-theft alarm at the exit sounded as she left. She then pulled the $22.12 worth of merchandise from her purse, tossed it on the floor and fled, Hudgins said. Hudgins said an attachment for the sex toy remained in the woman's purse.

Hudgins told The Decatur Daily in a story Wednesday that the woman's mother offered to pay for the items but the store would not be lenient. She said the store also plans to seek harassment charges against another woman who called the store in connection with the alleged shoplifting.

The doctor, Naum Ciomu, was a senior doctor and also worked at the University teaching anatomy. Head of Bucharest’s emergency hospital, Sorin Oprescu, said "We are shocked by what has happened. It is the first time we have had such a case." The patient had a testicular malformation and was being operated on by Dr. Ciomu. The patient was rushed for emergency reconstructive surgery. The plastic surgeon who is trying to restore the patient’s organ said he may be able to restore his urinary function, but doubts whether the man’s penis will ever be able to perform sexually. The patient’s wife is suing the doctor.
