Private
Touch
Guide
To Materials
Sex
Toys & More
Private
Touch is a trademarked name for a variation of softened thermoplastic
elastomer, a blend of polyvinyl chloride and silicone and other
chemicals. Private Touch is similar to Cyberskin in texture and
feel but may contain phthalates, a chemical blend used for softening.
Example
Some
adult toys are made from Private Touch material.
TPE
has many other uses as well. Some examples include automobile
airbag covers, yoga mats and medical catheters.
Allergy
Or Toxin Warnings
Private Touch may not be phthalate
free.
f
you are considering purchasing a Private Touch sex toy, we recommend
checking with the manufacturer on whether or not the product is
free of phthalates or purchasing from a store such as Holistic
Wisdom, Inc. that is committed to offering only nontoxic
sexual products.
This
material is the most porous of all sex toy materials, therefore
it easily harbors bacteria and cannot be sterilized. We recommend
using a condom with adult toys made of Private Touch to protect
against possible exposure to toxins and bacteria.
Cleaning
Recommendations
Private Touch is extremely porous and should be cleaned between
each use with warm water and mild soap or antibacterial
sex toy cleaners.
Once
dry, sprinkle with the included "renewing"
powder or cornstarch. Never use talcum powder or baby powder,
as these can cause irritation and sometimes larger problems for
women. Corn starch and a soft cloth may also be used to bring
the toy back to life. (Talcum powder has been implicated as a
possible cause of ovarian cancer.)
This
material is very porous, therefore easily harbors bacteria and
cannot be sterilized. We
suggest condom use with any product made of Private Touch material.
We highly
recommend storing items made of Private Touch in a storage/separation
bag or wrapped in thin material, as the porous surface can
absorb anything it comes in contact with. It is also recommended
that you store Private Touch toys in a cool, dark place.
Lubricants
Waterbased
only. Silicone or oil base lubricants will damage this material.
We also recommend using a condom with Private Touch products,
as they easily absorb germs and bacteria due to the high porosity
of the material.
