So
these two guys Mike and Craig who obviously are into getting
publicity have come out against porn in a Viva LaBam style based
on what they claim to be Christian motives. Their new documentary
Missionary Positions which is an attempt help the poor, suffering
masses who are in the grips of the filthy plague of porn that
is sweeping the world through the Internet.
Yes,
they’re for real, but they’re more Jackass than Falwell preaching
that porn "stems from... our sinful flesh." The self-proclaimed
“Porn Pastors” use midgets, puppets, and smirky, pranky commercials
to reach followers. They put up billboards, drive around in
their Porn Car, fly banners across beaches, and build “the number
1 Christian porn site – xxxchurch.com.” But doing the work of
the Lord is not always easy. Not only are there money problems
and personality conflicts, but also hate mail and Turkish computer
hackers attempting to destroy their on-line ministry. Their
wives are suspicious, and Christian power politico Pat Roberston
won’t let them on his Christian news show.
There
is no such thing as ALWAYS Good or Bad-
What
is really tiring to me, are all of the extremes that people
keep clinging too. From ALL porn is wrong, immoral to ALL porn
is good. ALL sex is good to ALL sex is immoral unless for procreation
or if you are married and even then only when a man is on top.
Who says?!?
People!
What is wrong with us! Nothing is black and white, there is
a paradox to all things. Some porn is healthy and positive,
some porn is negative and harmful. Just like anything in life
it boils down to moderation, balance, intentions. Etc.
Do
we want to destroy our sexuality through such extremes from
shame and fear to meaningless and damaging sexuality? Why can't
we seem to understand that sexuality is beautiful, but encourage
healthy forms of it that empower both men and women, that allow
consenting adult freedom of sexual creativity?
Gay or straight, porn for entertainment, better sex videos,
books, sex toys... all fine just make them from a place of good
intention, to empower people not use them. It is the same reason
that our television is so crappy... surface, out to make a buck
focusing on looking to exploit, use and destroy. Nothing will
get better in the world of extremes that we live in until we
start becoming the responsible, accountable, loving, giving,
compassionate people that we can be... until then we will continue
to surround ourselves with a surface circus of entertainers
out to make a buck with no substance on both sides of the argument.
